  1. Work Orders/Jobs in Sortly

Ability to create work orders or jobs in Sortly. Assign inventory to be consumed at a job. Once the job is completed, the inventory quantity should automatically update in Sortly. Ability to see which jobs are in progress, completed etc and to see how much materials have been consumed on the job so far. Maybe even allow some integration with other job management software.

this makes it easier and more efficient when organizing folders in a big sub folder. it would work so that when you click and hold you can drag one folder and place it into another by hovering over the folder you want to be the new destination

  4. Purchase Orders: Auto-Fill Part Number

When adding a part to your purchase order you have to manually add the part number. If it was added automatically it would make things a lot faster and smother

  6. Update items via bulk import

Add the ability to update items via bulk import. An example of why this would be important is for a cycle count or a stock take.

  8. Option to make fields required

We have at least half a dozen custom fields that we report on. To make it easier when my team is filling out the custom fields, it would be helpful if they couldn't complete the Item information without filling out all the required fields. Without that stopgap, we miss entering in details and are unable to have accurate reporting.

  12. Allow searching for vendors when creating a purchase order

We have 100 vendors and when creating a purchase order we need to scroll through the whole list to find the vendor. We'd love the ability to search the list of vendors to save time.

  13. Stock Count Search/Filtering

With over 800 SKUs, over 20,000 total quantity and a thousand or so locations, I'd like to be able to filter down what I would like to do stock counts on. Maybe by my customer fields, or the ability to choose "add to stock count" directly for a Sortly item itself. I find that I'm not sure where to start on the current Stock Count page using only the "search to add" field. One of the ideas of stock counts is that you may not know what you don't know. We have missing items, items in incorrect locations, mis-matched quantities but have no basis as to where to start. If I know I wanted to look up items in custom field "xyz" and also custom fields "abc" then I could get specific in my counts.

  14. ability to unpick an item, after it has been picked

This would be useful for when a customer cancels. It would allow our inventory to stay the same instead of having to complete the pick list and then having to go back into the specific item to add it back in.

  15. Background Removal Tool

Request: Add the ability to automatically remove or replace the background in photos uploaded to Sortly. Description: Many modern photo apps offer a background removal feature that helps create clean, professional-looking images without extra editing. This would allow users to quickly isolate items in their photos — ideal for inventory images, product listings, or documentation — directly within Sortly. Example Use Case: A user uploads a picture of an item taken on a cluttered desk and wants Sortly to automatically remove the background, leaving a clean white or transparent background for better visibility. Value to Users: Makes item photos look more professionalSaves time editing images externallyImproves visual consistency across inventories
